Texas Holdem Strategy

One thing I have learned is any two cards can win a pot. Also, that you don't have to be in every hand to take down a table and walk away with everyone's loot!

Lady Luck shines down on all of us occasionally, but even luck runs out. That's where strategy, skill and a well laid game plan come in to play.

If you are new to the game, you will need to learn the hands best before the flop!

Betting Position and Button Position

The Button. I like to watch the button and who has it. This little button will be your friend and the only constant you can be sure of, so always watch the button.

Betting Position. Some say they like to have the position of betting first and taking control of the table this way. Myself I like to see what else is out there,
and WHO has WHAT by their betting natures. The last person to bet knows a wealth of information. How many opponent's they'll be facing, who bet big, small etc. etc. If you are last you have seen how every player made his or her move. Plowing down 250 bucks first is not always the best thing to do before anybody else has bet. However this is sometimes my strategy for building a pot for my pocket aces. Nothing worse than winning a tiny pot of 50 dollars with Aces you never played.

The Online Poker game is just as real as the real off-line game.
Even though it is a computer that generates the game, the players on the other end are real and they have real habits that they bring to the table. Study your opponent, watch and learn how they bet, remember their hands, how much they bet, if they bet before everyone and so on. If you are a regular player, write down the names of players you are familiar with. So you can find them again at the tables once you have studied them. Most of the online poker games now have a find player option in their software

Strategy is and will be your key to success.

The best way is to get in on the action and formulate your very own strategy.

Key Pointers: Watch the button, study your opponents, and remember as much as you can.
A good memory of the players, their habits, hands and the previous rounds will go a long way in the game.

Good Luck, see you at the Top!
