World Series of Poker Winner 2008 - Peter Eastgate
Peter Eastgate from Denmark beat all eight other final table players to become the youngest player ever at 22 to win the title, roasting Phil Hellmuth as the previous youngest winner. He is also the first Danish winner, and took home $9.15milllion purse and the WSOP bracelet for his win.

World Series of Poker Winner 2007 - Jerry Yang
Yang won his seat to the main event from a $225 buy in at a local brick and mortar game in town at Resort and Casino to win $8.25 million dollars and the coveted gold bracelet.

World Series of Poker Winner 2006 - Jamie Gold
Controversy led to the lawsuit regarding the 12 million dollar prize. Crispin Leyser claimed Gold would split his winnings if Leyser helped him find celebs to wear the "Bodog" label at the main event. September 2006, half of the funds were frozen and in Feb, 07 Gold settled the dispute. Said he always intended on sharing his winnings.

Chris Moneymaker, next to Amarillo Slim is probably the most famous WSOP winner. Not the first to every qualify for WSOP via satellite, but the first for a player from PokerStars.com -Review Defeating one of our favorites Sam Fahra with 54 off suited. Lucky Dog! Moneymaker even stated "Im still in shock". 03 Winner and $2,500,000 for victory.

World Series of Poker Winner 2001 - Carlos Mortensen
Rockets ignite on Liftoff! Tomko with the best possible preflop hand, Rockets. Flop brought Mortenson an open end straight and flush draw also, wow! Mortenson bet $100,000, Tomko raised $400,000. Mortensen moved all-in. Ye Ole River gave nut straight, the victory and $1,500,000 to Mortenson.

Stu "The Kid" Ungar won five WSOP bracelets and was the youngest player to win until 1989 when broken by Phil Hellmuth. Besides Johnny Moss he is the only one to win three WSOP titles. Datsmalchi made straight to the 8 on the turn and defeats Tom Jacobs with his slow played pair. Datsmalchi wins title and $1,000,000.

World Series of Poker Winner 1991 - Brad Daugherty
Daugherty won with Jack's after the flop and defeating Holts trash and limp in with 73. Easy win and title not to mention the $1,000,000.

World Series of Poker Winner 1990 - Mansour Matloubi
Matloubi, the first European to become WSOP Champion defeated Lund with pocket 6's. Matloubi wins with a set of 10's and $895,000.

World Series of Poker Winner 1989 - Phil Hellmuth
Hellmuth won the title and $755,000 with his pocket 9's. Chan holding A-7s. didn't get any help on the board and Hellmuth won!

World Series of Poker Winner 1988 - Johnny Chan
Johnny Chan wins again. Back to Back titles for the player also know as “The Orient Express" Chan flopped a Queen high straight. Seidel, who had top pair, moved all-in on the turn and Chan won the title and $700,000.

Chan holding A-9 raised $60,000. Frank Henderson moved all-in with his pocket 4's, Chan found a 9 on the river and became WSOP Champion 87 r and bagging the pure of $625,000.

Berry Johnston, always a gentleman defeats Jesse Alto in 86 claiming World Champion and $570,000.

World Series of Poker Winner 1985 - Bill Smith
In the final hand T J Cloutier moved all-in with A-3. Smith called with pocket 3's, and they held and gave Smith the title and $700,000.

World Series of Poker Winner 1984 - Jack Keller
Jack Keller defeats Cowboy Wolford. Jack known as one of the most aggressive players of all times wins WSOP title and $660,000 clams with his "never say die" attitude.

World Series of Poker Winner 1983 - Tom Mcevoy
Tom McEvoy defeated Rod Peters securing him title for 1983. This would also be the first year a player was to win from a satellite seat. Tom is the author of many books on Poker and has won 4 WSOP Bracelets. This title earned him $580,000.

Probably the most remarkable WSOP victory of all. At one point Straus moved all-in against an opponent with more chips - and lost! However, when he was leaving the table he discovered that he had missed to put one of his $500 chips on the table. Since he hadn't said "all-in" he was allowed to continue playing. Amazingly, he went on to win the title and $520,000.

Bobby Hoff's Pocket A's were a favorite against Folwlers 7-6 off suit. After it was all said and done Fowler made nut straight on the turn and took home the title and $230,000.

Has won four WSOP bracelets including the main event playing from 1977-1979.

Brunson win WSOP two years in a row. What's more, with 10-2 as pocket cards in the final hand. And once again, he made a full house on the turn and river. Brunson wins $340,000 and Alto scratching his head.

Brunson's now infamous 10 Deuces, beats Altos Ace and Jacks and crowning Brunson World Champion winning $220,000.

Brian "Sailor" Roberts defeats Bob Hook's "Big Slick" in the final hand. "The sailor" received $210,000 and the title.

World Series of Poker Winner 1974 - Johnny Moss
Johnny Moss wins again for the third time in five years. This wins carried a prize of $160,000. Known as the “Grand Old Man” of poker, holds 8 WSOP bracelets, and inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.

World Series of Poker Winner 1973 - Puggy Pearson
This was the first year that the WSOP was videotaped. It was Johnny Moss vs Puggy Pearson. Both players limped in and flopped nothing. Pug wins the title and his $130,000 with only Ace high.

World Series of Poker Winner 1972 - Amarillo Slim
Amarillo Slim Preston: An inductee in the Poker Hall of Fame. Holds four WSOP bracelets and it is heard a movie may appear soon about his life starring Nicolas Cage. Cant wait to see this.

Johnny Moss defended his title in year two whereby the freezeout tournament structure was introduced. Once again, Johnny won and this time also winning $30,000 clams.

World Series of Poker Winner 1970 - Johnny Moss
The first year of the WSOP was held at Benny Binion's Horseshoe and the winner, Johnny Moss was crowned the first World Champion of Poker and received a cup as a prize.
